I like the show, and after watching Twilight I realise how many hours of laughter I will get from you two going on over the fandom. I'm not here to tell you you are wrong for liking the movie, but let's just say that I disagree... anyways still a great podcast cause I like hearing different points of view all the while and I hope to hear more of your conversations as the show progresses

Great podcast! I thoroughly enjoyed the level of the discussion and the many different angles you both introduced for looking at the Bella/Edward relationship.

In many ways I'm not a fan of the relationship, but I admit the perspective of it being first love softens up my view a little bit. I'm sorting out how I feel about the gender stuff. Suzie makes an interesting point about age playing a part in "Edward knows best" too.

As for the appeal, I think it's passion. I think it's feeling special. Imagine you, an ordinary girl, is somehow extraordinary in the eyes of the most beautiful, strongest boy there is. There's the appeal of being drawn into a world that is bigger, grander than the day-to-day. And I loved Shannon's point about being seen and heard - for both Edward and Bella.

Lots to think about. I look forward to your next twi-cast!

Excellent podcast! I thoroughly enjoyed it and you gave me a lot to think about when it comes to Bella and Edward's relationship. I agree with Shannon that in most first-love relationships it is very believable that they want to spend all their time together

What is disappointing for me about Bella is that she thinks she isn't good enough for Edward because of how she looks. She is also so fixated on his appearance so in some ways that feels shallow when it comes to issues, even though she does not seem like a shallow person.

I do think Edward tends to feel "he knows best" not because he is male but because he is so old so for me this isn't a gender issue.

LOVED it!
