Interesting comparison of the exercise to Breaking Dawn – I’ll have to make not of that when re-reading Breaking Dawn (which won’t be until after Eclipse film is out.. heh).

Jacob was my favorite character when I first read the books. I especially liked all of the time spent in La Push when Bella and her dad are spending all their time there. If I had been Bella, I would have never left. When many fans started to hate him in Eclipse, I always understood Jacob even if I didn’t agree with him.

That Jacob “extra”, although just an exercise, has essentially the same tone as his section of Breaking Dawn. You can see where Stephenie was going with his “voice”.
