  1. Shannon the Movie Moxie Said,

Update on Let Me In – it’s being released October 1, 2010 and it’s actually going back to the source material and will be based on the novel as opposed to the film. Fingers crossed!

  2. Wray Said,

Now that is good news, Shannon! I was not interested at all until now, as the novel has an interesting backstory for Eli that would clear up the ambiguity in the movie. I liked the movie very much (not as much as most critics) but saw no reason to remake it. Hope they keep the stark setting.

I’d like to add “Inception” in July (I think). I have no real idea what it’s about, but it has an amazing cast!

  3. Wray Said,

Loved that you guys both commented on the relative smarmy-ness of Bradley Cooper. Even my daughter made a similar remark …and she liked Dane Cook.

  4. Marina Antunes Said,

Wray – great call on “Inception” – how I failed to miss that one is pure blasphemy!

And yeah…there’s something about Cooper that just doesn’t sit well with me. I actually had a soft spot for Dane Cook – and then he made a couple of really poor movies. Now that you mention it, he seems to have disappeared out of Hollywood. I hate to say it, but I hope Cooper goes the same route.

  5. Shannon the Movie Moxie Said,

Ah, Inception – good call. I keep forgetting it’s a little genre bending (literally) as I associate Nolan so much with thrillers or TDK.

That’s hilarious about your daughter picking up on the smarmyness of Cooper! You definately go ‘Oh, he’s one of those guys’ when you see him. I can’t quite place Dane Cook – he must be a comedy guy?

  6. Wray Said,

Yeah. I’m not a comedy person either, which is not to say I don’t have a sense of humor or am not terminally silly…

I think the last comedy I really laughed at was Hot Fuzz.

Dane Cook has been in movies and TV. He can be funny, too, but you don’t have to wait long before misogyny rears it ugly head. You get the idea.

Just realized he was “The Waffler” in Mystery Men! I have great affection for that movie – so awesomely ridiculous!

  7. Shannon the Movie Moxie Said,

Omg – I love both Mystery Men and Hot Fuzz! Now, those are comedies I can get behind – but most of what comes out? Meh. Sounds like we have the same taste in comedy, good to know I’m not alone :)
