After listening I realized it sounds like I said ‘hurting cows’ at one point… but I actually said ‘herding cows’. Yes, that’s random but wanted to be clear that I don’t want any cows hurt
“Hurting cows” LOL! Don’t worry, Shannon, I didn’t think you had anything against cows. Herding cats is more difficult, however…
Hey, thanks for the shout out a couple of episodes ago! I was driving to San Francisco listening to your podcast when I heard.
Loved the Eclipse “post mortem”. Marina, I cheered aloud when you talked about what draws you to the series. For me it’s this intense feeling of longing (which reminds me of being a teenager) mixed with a kind of tragedy. Stephenie Meyer is really talented at drawing on that particular emotional range – it’s sort of a raw talent, so I hope that she doesn’t lose it as she becomes a more experienced writer. And that brings me to another point…the movies. As much as I enjoyed them and as much as they became better with each sequel, I have realized they will probably never capture the charm or heart of the books for me. As flawed as Twilight was Catherine Hardwicke infused it with a kind of emotional energy that is missing from the latter two movies. There are great moments, though, so having them on DVD is the best.
Speaking of Twilight, I just returned from our second annual Oregon trip. My husband wanted to go further north this time, so we went to the Columbia River Gorge. Strangely enough, we ended up on a road above our campsite at Ainsworth State Park where we drove right past the View Point Inn! You know, the Prom scene…?? I was shocked! They kept a prop right in the yard too – the “Monte Carlo Night” arch. What that scene doesn’t show is how beautiful the site really is – that Inn is situated at the top of a mountain overlooking the Columbia River. Wow!
Lastly, I’m sending my thoughts out there…please no 3D for Breaking Dawn. Please, Summit, please.
